Three-card basic layout
This layout can either reflect the lesson just past, the current lesson faced
and the future lesson, or it can examine the physical, emotional, and spiritual
levels of your issue. Your reading will include not only this basic
information, but also additional input from my guides...or even yours.
Please keep in mind this is the beginning of
the process. If you opt for an email reading, you will be able to ask
questions regarding the initial information. I will then respond to your
questions and you may then ask final followups to be sure you have as much
clarity as possible.
Example: My question was for guidance in my present situation regarding my
"day job",
The cards:
Past--Smoke Signals (Intent)
Present--Storyteller
(Expansion)
Future: Heyokah (Humor/Opposites)
The Smoke Signals card points to past need to define my intentions, in
this case on my job. A lack of direction had been frustrating me in
achieving my goals, and this card alerts to the possibility of following a path
that does not further those goals. Another powerful message warns against
talking about intentions but failing to follow through, which has always been a
weakness of mine.
In the present lesson the Storyteller card instructs me to listen to
others in order to expand my experiences, and to share experiences with others
as well. And while I should share my own life lessons with those who might
benefit from the lessons I learned, ultimately the path they choose is their
own, so I should not attach any expectations when sharing. Finally, the
card encourages me to stretch my capabilities and create my own Medicine
Stories.
Heyokah pops into the future lesson with the promise of laughter,
perhaps at my own expense. The Divine Trickster warns of taking myself to
seriously, and to stop taking on the problems of others and to consider the
exact opposite of what I am doing as possibly the best path.
When Heyokah falls in a reading, I generally pull another card for
clarification of what area the Trickster, much like the Coyote, means for me to
examine. In this case, I pulled the Counting Coup card which indicated a
need to be in balance and to acknowledge any commitments I am unable to fulfill
instead of being dragged down by them and leaving myself open to the Divine
Trickster's influence.
In summary, the reading let me know that by defining my intentions and
expanding my horizons I will be able to achieve my goals, but that if I keep
taking on burdens that are not mine and allowing myself to become imbalanced, I
won't be able to achieve the success I desire and the lesson may be a comedy of
errors, so to speak. So I realize that while my "day job" is important
at present, I should decide what is really important to me and pursue that with
a clear path. Most importantly, I should quit taking life so seriously, and
laugh at my own mistakes.
