"God’s
Secret”...Angel of Mysteries
In
the angelic realms,
archangels are just above angels in
the hierarchy of heaven, being one more step
removed from the dense energies of the physical planes. While angels are God’s
messengers and armies, archangels are like the platoon leaders. Only two were
mentioned by name in the Bible, the source of information for many people
regarding angels and their abilities. Michael and Gabriel bear this distinction,
unless of course you count Lucifer, the fallen angel.
In
other religious writings, including the Talmud, the Apocrypha, and other
sources, the power structure of heaven becomes more clear and in the Hebrew
mystery school of the Qabbalah (spelling varies) each level of the “Tree of
Life” is ruled by an archangel in addition to the god-energy associated with
that level. In learning the Qabbalah one usually starts at the bottom, or root
level with Malkuth and the Archangel Metatron, but in this case I feel compelled
to discuss the ruler of Chokmah, second from the top and the level where the
student learns about Wisdom.
According
to theological lore, the
Archangel Raziel, also called Ratziel, Suriel, or Gallisur among other names,
possesses all the knowledge of the Universe and wrote it down in a book
called “Sepher Raziel” that supposedly gives instructions for creation as
well as secrets of childbirth and many other sacred and previously unknown
secrets. The story states that when Raziel gave this book to Man, the other
angels were jealous and one threw the tome into the sea, only to have it
retrieved and returned by Rahab, angel of the seas, and passed down to future
generations. The grimoire eventually passed into the hands of Enoch and then
Solomon, who each put his name on the book that held such potentially powerful
information.
Calling
on the powers of Raziel enable one to see beyond the veil, so to speak, to
“learn how to put things in motion in their pure essence” according to Ted
Andrews. Whenever situations seem incomprehensible, or people’s motives are in
question, call on Raziel to assist in seeing the truth. People who have Raziel
as a Guardian Angel or a Guide tend to know things they should have no way of
knowing, to be able to discover information they shouldn’t be able to access.
All of us can use the energies of Raziel to assist us in the mysteries of life.

Stones
for working with Raziel
When working with the ruler of Chokmah, obviously
gray-colored stones would be the first choice, as the color is associated with
that particular sephira. Still, the ultimate decision lies with your reaction to
the stone. Choosing any tool, whether stone, plant, animal or spirit remains a
personal decision and you must form the connection to the item or entity so that
you are enriched by using its energies. What might work well for me might be a
stumbling block for someone else, so trust your own instincts and remember that
guidelines are simply that: guidelines.
With
that caveat in mind, here are a few powerful gray or grayish stones I find
useful not only in connecting to the energies of the Archangel Raziel, but in
healing and growth in general.
Hematite –
Named
for its iron content, this deep gray stone leaves a deep red streak on
paper. Many people use it for blood disorders. Also, it assists in the focusing of energy and emotions
for balance between the body, mind, and spirit. Hematite is
slightly grounding, reduces
stress, enhances will and
courage. Mentally stimulating, this
stone helps to see that the only limitations are the ones we set within our
minds. Stimulates
attainment of peace, self-control, and inner happiness. Balances
yin-yang energies and works to transform negativity into the purity of
the universal light of love.
Lepidolite:
A lavender-gray stone that is a natural source of the psychotropic
substance lithium, like Kunzite this is the 'junkies' friend’. The high
lithium content is an excellent balancer, allowing a gentle withdrawal from
compulsive behavior. Calms and relaxes, gently eases intensity of feelings,
stress, mood swings, depression, manic-depression, self-criticism, anxiety,
addictions, worrying. Brings hope, relief, gentleness, self-love, patience,
self-forgiveness, as well as mental
and emotional balance and well being. Aids the strengthening of the muscles of
the heart and blood flow, while giving expression to innate inner light and joy.
Facilitates astral travel and assists in birth and re-birthing.
Though it is not likely one would use the raw stone
for treatment of manic-depression or bipolar disorder, take care, though if you
take this element internally, as lithium in large doses can be toxic and is
water soluble. The more water you
drink, the more lithium you flush out of your system, affecting the adverse
dose. Dehydration causes a buildup of the lithium which can cause an overdose
without actually taking too much of the medication. Maintaining a consistent
diet then becomes quite important.
