Seven Steps

 

Deep meditation and detailed ritual definitely play an important role in spiritual health, but sometimes we either have difficulty finding the right time for these activities or we simply don’t feel like it even knowing we will feel better afterwards. That doesn’t mean we have to forego the benefits altogether. The basic steps only take a few minutes and can be done anywhere, anytime. The more practice we get at them, the easier it is to repeat them under any conditions.

 

While I certainly can’t claim to have originated the idea, I’ve broken the steps down in a brief,  logical, easy to implement set of seven steps that can be expanded as much as you like, whenever you like.

 

1)     Breathe

o       Take as many as you need, but at least take three deep breaths, one for Body, one for Mind, one for Spirit. Continue to be conscious of your breathing and allow any tension in your body to dissolve.

2)     Ground

o       Feel yourself connecting with the earth. Feel the umbilical cord that stretches from you to the earth’s core.

3)     Center

o       Feel the energy from the earth flow up through you and pool in your abdomen, feeding your center of balance.

4)     Connect

o       Open the chakra in the top of your head,  feeling energy flow from the Universe into your body and connecting with the Earth energy into which you are already plugged. Feel the connection.

5)     Flow

o       Allow the energies to flow through you. You are an open conduit for the energies of the Earth and the Universe. Feel the energy flushing out any blockages you may have.

6)     Visualize

o       Focus on whatever situation or issue ahead of you, or on the world as a whole. This step can be as personal as visualizing interacting with your mate or as universal as sending light to the planet for healing.

7)     Balance

o       Pull the energies into your body and feel them circulate through your system, bringing your body, mind and spirit into balance and allowing you to step forward with ease and confidence.
